Before the pandemic, each year our volunteers travelling to Honduras would bring medical kits like these to both the AyO Medical Clinic in Tegucigalpa, and the hospital in Santa Barbara. Each kit contains medicines to treat the most common ailments such as allergies, respiratory and skin infections, and most of the medicine goes to treating kids.
At AyO, one box, weighing 50 pounds, lasts about one month.
Kits are purchased by volunteers for $675 each. They are provided by HPIC Canada, whose mission it is to increase access to medicine and improve health in vulnerable communities. Tax receipts are issued. If you are interested in donating a medical kit, please send an email to contact@helphonduras.ca. We will be in touch with you with more information. We look forward to resuming our annual visits soon, so we can deliver this important medicine.
The value of the medication in each kit is well over $2,000.
